Generation of 20 GHz, sub-40 fs pulses at 960 nm via repetition-rate multiplication.
Optical filtering of a stabilized 1 GHz optical frequency comb produces a 20 GHz comb with approximately 40 nm bandwidth (FWHM) at 960 nm. Use of a low-finesse Fabry-Pérot cavity in a double-pass configuration provides a broad cavity coupling bandwidth (Deltalambda/lambda approximately 10%) and large suppression (50 dB) of unwanted modes. Pulse durations shorter than 40 fs with less than 2% res...
متن کاملStrong optical injection-locked semiconductor lasers demonstrating > 100-GHz resonance frequencies and 80-GHz intrinsic bandwidths.
By using strong optical injection locking, we report resonance frequency enhancement in excess of 100 GHz in semiconductor lasers. We demonstrate this enhancement in both distributed feedback (DFB) lasers and vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers (VCSELs), showing the broad applicability of the technique and that the coupling Q is the figure-of-merit for resonance frequency enhancement. We ha...
متن کاملMultipath Propagation Measurements in Radio Links at 40 Ghz
The results of a measurement campaign conducted to determine the wideband behaviour of the radio channel assigned to Multimedia Wireless Systems are described in this paper. It has been found that small multipath components are present in the impulsive response of radio channels operating at 40 GHz with 80 MHz bandwidths. Multipath and delay spread are limited by the spatial filtering of direct...
متن کاملVela X at 31 Ghz
We present observations of the Vela X region at 31 GHz using the Cosmic Background Imager (CBI). We find a strong compact radio source (5A9 ; 4A1, FWHM) about the Vela pulsar, which we associate with the Vela pulsar wind nebula (PWN) recently discovered at lower radio frequencies. The CBI’s 40 resolution for a 450 field of view allows the PWN to be studied in the large-scale context of Vela X. ...
متن کاملMeasurement and Analysis of Channel Characteristics in Reflective Environments at 3.6 GHz and 14.6 GHz
Recently, high frequency bands (above 6 GHz) have attracted more attention for the next generation communication systems due to the limited frequency resources below 6 GHz. To reveal the influence of frequency on propagation channels, channel characterization results at 14.6 and 3.6 GHz bands based on measurements in an indoor scenario and in a reverberation chamber are presented. The measureme...
